So what’s the story behind this still life? Tired of photographing the flowers from my garden, I had bought beautiful flowers from the market but at the end none of them really completed my vision and I ended up going back to my back yard, cut some roses and sweet autumn clematis and it all came together perfectly.

I think the soft pink rose and the clematis breathe a sense of reality to the whole scene as well as the oranges. Definitely one of my favorite works of nature morte. September 2020
