Handmade Ceramic Female Form
Handmade Ceramic Female Form
A small sculptural torso, shaped by hand in the tradition of Greek and Roman marble fragments, finished in a glossy slate-blue glaze. Fine dark speckles run through the blue-gray surface like weathered stone, and where the glaze thins over the edges of the shoulders, chest, and hips, it breaks into hints of warm bronze, as if the figure had been polished by hands over centuries.
I designed it to be displayed and used. Lean it on a shelf or console, rest it on a stack of coffee table books, or use it as a paperweight on your desk. Its dark, satin surface stands out against white walls, marble, and light wood.
